I am self-taught artist, my education was about psychology. I never worked in psychology, but psychology fascinates me. Our beautiful, struggling, erring brains, and how they interact – very interesting. When I photograph, I give my models space to show themselves, space for improvisation. Interaction is a key. I don’t believe in single «Real Self», every one of us have lots of selves. The self we are at this moment now is the authentic self – one that will most likely be different tomorrow, different after every next person appears in front of us. My Portrait series are very much about that. The subjects of these portraits become digital phantoms, a projection of emotions that were born during the shoot – their very unique, but still real Self.
