In my work, an ironic perspective and social commentary go hand in hand with a complex depiction of emotions. My aim is to capture the contradictions in
people’s lives, subverting the often unrealistic expectations all of us face in one way or another. The oil paintings I propose respond to the ageist metaphor and the mystified landscape we live in, both within and outside of the arts. My work shows a critique on society as seen through a lens with preset interpretations where often bright colors depict frivolity and lightheartedness, flawless beauty acts as superficial,
gender instills stereotype behavior.
