Drawing inspiration from East Asian art, including paper scrolls, fans, screens, vases, ceramics, and jade, along with discarded items like waste materials and industrial by-products, I create visual languages that speak to nuanced cultural elements and latent tensions in cross-cultural navigation. These embodiments of amalgamation and hybridity are my way of examining the troubled, unwieldy, tense, and imperfect nature of the collective body, while revelling in processes of transformation and transgression beyond singular forms.
