Zeynep Beler was born 1985 in Ankara, Turkey. After receiving her MA in Photographic Studies at Leiden University, she was an artist-in-residence at Borusan ArtCenter/Istanbul between 2010-2012. Other workshops and residencies she participated in are Middle Town: Picturing the Unspectacular, held in Turkey and Latvia in collaboration with GAPO and ISSP and AiR Turkey-Scandinavia Connections in Tranås, Sweden. Recent exhibitions include “Habitat” (Istanbul Modern, 2015-16) and “Greetings from Now On: Territories of Commitments” (BERLINARTPROJECTS, 2016), Writing Remains (solo) (Zilberman Projects, 2017), “Tree, Simulacrum, Sea, Moon” (Borusan Contemporary, 2017), and “Beachcomber” (solo) (Krank Art Gallery, 2018). She lives and works in Istanbul.
