Zac Leonardi, the artist behind Leonardi Illustrations, is an emerging Australian creative who turned a debilitating experience with Ulcerative Colitis into a reality successful digital/ graphic art career—starting from a camp table in his bathroom in 2021. Swapping oil paints for a Wacom tablet and a run-down MacBook Air, he turned his bathroom into a studio and started creating serious digital pieces that landed him commission work almost immediately. Within six months, he was a finalist in the Largest Australian art prize in history-2022 Bluethumb Art Awards, showing his work for the first time and selling to a swanky Melbourne collector. Now with over 40,000 Instagram followers, Zac remains refreshingly honest and cringes at any “influencer” label, preferring to let his art—and the story of his camp table—speak for itself.
