Vân-Nhi Nguyễn is a Vietnamese photographer and designer based in Hà Nội, Việt Nam. Her work takes interest in the reconstruction of the collective memory- be it that of her own identity or of the larger community- and its relationship to the contemporary society and its overlooked issues. She utilizes the visual archives and its characteristics as the reflection of the different communities she lived in, to theorize, confront and question the role of the photograph in against its larger cultural and political context.
Vân-Nhi holds a BFA in Photography from OCAD University, Canada and BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. She is the current recipient of the 2022 PH Museum’s Women Photographer Grant, alumni of the 2023 Angkor Photo Festival.
