Originally from Montréal, Canada, Jonathan Poirier is an interdisciplinary artist based in Hà Nội, Việt Nam. He has a BA of arts in Communications and Electroacoustics.

Concentrating his efforts into intermixing colonization and post-colonization studies with his university works, he decided to follow a similar process with his photography. Capturing a portrait is for him an opportunity to translate these complex identities from words and thoughts, into something tangible that exists in parallel from the subjects themselves. Subsequently, a way to rewrite post-colonial constructs that affects BPOC to this day.

He currently works as a Senior Fashion Retoucher at Pixelz.
