Tara Fallaux is a visual artist based in Amsterdam. She mainly works on long-term investigative and narrative projects involving photography, film and sound. Tara studied Film and Visual Arts at the Netherlands Film Academy and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the School of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University in the US. (completed in 1998). After working in New York as a photography assistant she began her career as a documentary and portrait photographer for newspapers, magazines and commercials in Amsterdam. Since 2018, after a five-months Artist in Residence period at the Chinese European Art Center in Xiamen (China), Tara has expanded her approach and developed artistic poetic storytelling projects combining photography, film-installation and with texts and a book as an integral part of the presentation.
