Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin is a multidisciplinary artist from Los Angeles, California. He is primarily known for his documentary landscape photography, which has been featured in The New York Times, Time Magazine, Lenscratch, and many other publications. Drawing and painting were his earliest forms of expression, initially inspired by Japanese animation and leading to early experiments with graffiti art during the early 90’s.
In 2018, Kwasi resumed painting after a hiatus of almost a decade, developing an abstract style utilizing geometric elements, line, and color to create complex compositions. The common themes that can be found in his work revolve around identity, perception, and economic disparities found throughout the United States.
