Nasrah Omar (she/her) is an artist working with photography, AR/VR and collage. Through imaginative world-building, her work interlaces layered experiences of the South Asian diaspora, material culture and ritual, employing lurid colors to convey the otherworldly and hyperreal throughout her photographic vernacular. Mediated through carefully crafted, layered tableaus, she explores pathways to decolonial futurities; traversing the realms of the sensory, simulated and sublime. Nasrah is a Google IEF fellow, her recent commissions include Sotheby's, Galerie Magazine, Gaze Magazine, Kajal Magazine and Azeema Magazine. Nasrah's work has been exhibited at ICP, Houston Center for Photography, PH Museum and Chashama amongst others. She holds a BFA in Photography from School of Visual Arts and lives and works in Lenapehoking (NYC).
