Since becoming a full-time painter a few years ago, I've exhibited my art in local and international group exhibitions, solo exhibitions, charity auctions, and art fairs like SCOPE Basel, Seattle Art Fair, Art Toronto, and Papier Montreal.
I draw on my background in Linguistics to propose that painting is, at the deepest level, a visual language. As such, it shares meaning and purpose with other languages: it is the mechanism by which individuals communicate with others in personal or abstract domains, it is a repository for historical narratives, it is the embodied image of cultural concern and criticism, it is a means of engaging with dialogue with the future. Painting is the physical manifestation of ideas for communication using an explicitly emotive and aesthetic vectors.
