Kelly Chuning is an interdisciplinary artist born in Southern California and raised in rural southern Utah and Colorado. She recently graduated with a BFA in Studio Arts with an Emphasis in Photography and a Minor in Art History from Southern Utah University. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, with shows in Barcelona and Rome. Her work is in the Southern Utah Museum of Art’s permanent collection and the Gala Awards Exhibition Collection.
Chuning's work looks at the interplay of aesthetics and the infantile, while examining the classification of cultural and sexual identity through speech and objectivity—both independently and collectively. Her work explores rhetoric, imagery, and media as a tool of constructing various modes of identity.
