My name is Jason Guan, a Vancouver based street photographer. I was born in Los Angeles, raised in China till Grade 9 and moved to Vancouver, BC Canada in 2017. In 2018, my high school photography teacher Mr. Dean Long taught me about Magnum Photos and street photography, ever since then I’m obsessed. After my father passed away the next year, taking photos has been the only thing that makes me happy. Photography changed who I am and bonded me with this city, I want to preserve the disappearing, the absurdity and the randomness through my lens. My work mainly focuses on everything I see that strikes me in some way, and I only wish these photos can make some people feel the same.
