Joseph Farrugia grew up on a farm in Terra Cotta, Canada. In 2003 he graduated from NSCAD University (BFA: Interdisciplinary) and in 2005 from the University of Canterbury (Dip. Teaching: Art/History). Joseph then taught art at Te Awamutu College, New Zealand and learned about the local apiculture. In 2008 Joseph then traveled and taught around the world, exploring various regions both artistically and agriculturally. In 2011, he took these experiences and returned to Canada to set up his art studio and has spent the last seven years developing new art making techniques with honey bees. Joseph’s latest work will be exhibited this April, 2019 at the Gladstone in Toronto (https://www.gladstonehotel.com/Grow-Op).
