Born in Berlin, Germany, to Turkish parents I graduated with a BA in Business Administration in Berlin, before moving to New York and working as a Senior Project Manager. While working full-time I started taking classes in photography at the School of Visual Arts. In 2017, I left a six-year career in HR and marketing in search of something new. This led me to embark on a five-month journey across South Asia. I began to develop a fascination with documentary photography. Once I started exploring the wider world around me, I started focusing my photography on cultures, identities, and ethnicities.
With the pandemic all around us, I shifted my focus to my own family and my own background. My interest surrounds especially the character traits which seem to be passed on from generation to generation.
