When creating my art, I try to find new ways to present a portrait. I have an unapologetic enthusiasm for colour. When starting a painting I look to see what colour combinations work, sometimes inspired by the colours in the image, my mood at the time or everyday colour combinations which I observe. I especially like looking at interior design and the colour choices in a room. My portraits are from models of men and women in makeup and fashion. I believe this comes from my interest in fashion and makeup artistry growing up, I fondly remember buying fashion magazines to specifically look at the fashion adverts. After my Art Foundation, I studied Graphic Design, and this is a huge influence on the way I approach my artwork.
