My process in photography ranges from souvenirs of life to examination of relationships and finding connections in my collaborations with my subjects or family. I love the process of casting and building a relationship with my collaborators and finding out a secret or a regret, and having them tell me how proud they are of their family. Even when working with my own family, there is something to learn while making work. To balance those intense and life-enriching, I like to explore outside of my comfort zone and find little slices of life that compel, make me laugh, or pause. My practice of making work takes on two separate but equal roles, one the repetition of working the eye and mind to keep it searching and then the performance, the body of work that has the hours of research, casting calls, and production.
