Apadola Nelson's workshop bears the traces of multiple pictorail artistic explorations. Stretched canvases are arranged on stained walls, while others dry on the foor. Drawings and photographs are scattered, creating an atmosphere of accumulation. The predominance of subjects in this artistic expression imparts powerful symbolic meaning to Nelson's paintings.
Vases, fowers, sketched landscapes, and chandeliers come to life on various formats, often of large size, in order to extend reality. Nelson pays homage to a past where consciousness was still pure and neutral. According to him, during our sleep, the brain opens a library of images. Thus, he enjoys redrawing the uncertain contours of a subconscious and profound energy to escape from an environment of which he is now too aware, our own.
