Annieo Klaas is an oil painter that grew up in Dakar, Senegal and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Seattle, Washington at Cornish College of the Arts in 2015. She has recently moved to Mobile to study pharmacy at Auburn’s satellite campus at the University of South Alabama (PharmD candidate 2025). She is interested in the unexpected compositions of naturally-forming images, like the random-but-balanced way that debris assembles itself on the sidewalk, or clouds arrange themselves in the sky. Images like these imply that art is a world contained in a universe larger than we are aware of. That universe itself can create art, whether or not its materials are self-aware.

Annieo's work is in the Fred Hutch Cornish Collection in Seattle, Washington, as well as other personal collections across the US and in Senegal.
