I graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design with a BFA, then went on to get a MFA in Painting from the University of New Hampshire. I am love with painting, especially portraits. For me, painting is like trying to solve a rubik's cube or one of those crazy hard crossword puzzles. It is a series of actions and reactions that you become obsessed with. The portraits demand a perfection that turns what seems like a random assortment of colors and strokes into a person. Every paint stroke is helping me solve this puzzle, yet sometimes to solve one area, you must destroy another. This construction and destruction happens over and over until the solution appears. Once it's done, it looks effortless. The answers seem so simple, but it's the scribbles and marks that tell the story.
