Tictoc Studio is a nomad multi media design project living and working between Rome and Sardinia.
The Studio primary motif is “Volcanology” and its main creative task is lamp design.
I was inspired by volcanoes after years spent holidaying on the island of Stromboli.
The lava explosions, (the ‘Booms’) are also metaphorical - a byproduct of the hectic city life - and in Tictoc they become boldly coloured geometric abstract shapes perfect for a peculiar playful light concept. The shapes were originally paper collages, then transitioned to digital vectors I could use to laser cut my favourite material: plexiglass.
The plexiglass is usually dual coloured, so you can turn it one way or the other depending on what kind of atmosphere you want to create.
