Born in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Allison Peitsch is best known for her vivid and visceral paintings which she labels as industrial surrealism. As a child Allison was fascinated by horror films and science fiction, often drawing inspiration from them. Her paintings depict various distorted images of the human form including organs, bones and fluid. Juxtaposed with landscape, industrial materials, and organic forms Peitsch seems to marry both the natural and un-natural in a distinctive and unsettling manner. Influenced heavily by psychology and human behavior Peitsch intends to guide viewers to analyze the raw and complex relationships they have with themselves, forcing them to both visually confront and deconstruct the one thing we all have in common- a living body.
