My work derives from the belief that there is a world beyond what we can see, and photography is a portal to explore its sights and sounds. I am influenced by the Japanese "Provoke" era, which suggests that photography can act as a medium to capture fragments of our material-less reality. I use photographic film to capture those fleeting moments. By placing my subjects onto a more tangible medium, I manage to build solid narratives from the fragments of reality.
The work is an exploration of first-time experiences and forgotten meanings of landmarks' names. I rely on movements and textures to form my narrative, with very little guidance on how the narrative should be told. Therefore, I often conclude my work in an open-ended manner with the intention to invite viewers to explore worlds of ideas along with me.
