"Youth" is about the liminal time between everyone's childhood and adulthood. As we grow our experiences change how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. There is a moment when the child in us all realises our fairytale world is just a fairytale. The images in “Youth” are there to dramatise the shift from wonder to a feeling of horror as we gain more knowledge about the weird world we once thought of as so innocent and real. The characters represent both time periods because at first glance they look innocent and then to some extend creepy.
