I mix watercolour, acrylic and ink to experiment with different consistencies, colour potency and depth creating paintings that explore deconstructed landscapes and organic forms. My work is intuitive and allows room for spontaneity. I use my instinct and my body to move, and drag the paint around. I use chalk pastel, which is sensitive to pressure; it breaks; it smudges - it has a life of its own. In my work I consider language, and how texture and colour are a communicative tool. I am interested in what I can do with paint when it is free from the constraints of a premeditated composition.
