The topic of my last series of works come from a box: an old box that my grandma gave me, full of anchient photos dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. I was so impressed by the poses , the clothes and the expressions of the people portrayed in these photos that I decided to use them as subjects of a series of paintings which talk about the idea of time. This topic is related both to the subject itself and to the natural texture of the support (a fir wood panel), whose veins mark the biological time of the original tree.
I censored some of the characters by opening a prospective view on stars and galaxies trough the shapes of the bodies: the end result is an alienating effect, that looks like a sci-fi movie frame.
