My primary intention remains on how we, in our contemporary lives, have to find interaction with the forms that surround us. How the environment we inhabit is as much part of us, as we are a part of it. It is this interaction that I feel kindles my exploration of this space. This work follows the tune the cubists laid forth when opening the vast domain of visual interaction. The subjects and surface both have a say in this space. The world and the subject have always and will always be in unison, but it is up to each individual to allow those two a dance.
To work toward better understanding my own relationship with these new spaces I’ve constructed sculptures that function within the familiar territories of painting. These constructions create a field of play on which the painting is decided.
