White Fences explores the landscapes and young residents of the Columbus, Ohio suburb, New Albany. The images are a meditation on the suburban life in it's mundane and sometimes superficial beauty. To some, the suburban life is apart of the American Dream, and to others, the suburbs become stigmatized as being boring and fake. To those who were raised in New Albany, there is both an appreciation for the privileges and a desire to leave the suburban bubble. The portraits focus on the college-aged youth that are confronting that dicotomy now, including myself.
