These series of photos were taken to portray the extreme plastic pollution we are currently experiencing. Waste has become a major issue for our environment, and corporations continue to produce non-biodegradable commodities that we keep consuming. Our blindness creates this contradiction where we continue to use these polluting materials even though we are living in poor environmental conditions, but many still act like there will be no consequences. The combination of capitalism and our faulty ethics have created an irreversible mistake in which we can only change by being more conscious on our demands as consumers in a capitalist society. I wanted to depict the abundance of waste that is causing severe environmental degradation, and how a dystopian anxiety is emerging.
