I am a visual artist based in Baltimore working in both traditional and digital mediums. Through each of my works, I investigate what it means for human beings to live simultaneously with joy and pain.
My recent oil paintings focus on examining contradictory and layered emotions, exploring ambiguous and fictional narratives within landscapes. Like many of my past works that tend to reveal a sense of humor with a concurrent notion of melancholy, they reflect my true and conflicted inner world. Since adulthood, I have rarely felt completely happy or wonderful without a slight hint of sadness, and vice versa. These images are fantasy versions of my personal and internal journey -- they tell stories of characters who share similar emotional experiences to mine in real life.
