Yuan Tang is a New York based Chinese multidisciplinary artist who moves freely within photography, video, installation, and print. Yuan received her MFA in Photographic & Electronic Media from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2017.
After extensively exploring digital photography and video, Yuan has begun to again explore analog photography – producing a series of intimate scenes she calls "Vague."
Her subjects, other young Chinese women she has met in New York, are women far away from their hometowns and families who must face the culture shock of a chaotic and foreign city, alone, among many other challenges.
