the examination occurs between the rigid dichotomy of the gender binary within the fashion world, the presentation of being masculine or feminine in what we wear, and the perception of it’s conjunction within a biological aspect; the life science of the male and female form, in a story titled “UnDichotomy.”
In this story, photographer Ashley Chappell and stylist Rowaine Grant chip away at the fragility of the societal gender construct from a visual vantage point, blending and distorting the ideas we once thought only laid bare one truth, the black-and-white interpretation of gender as a male or female only binary.
