Edison Alcaide is a brazilian artist based in East London, UK. After 14 years living in London, he began a journey of self discovery which led him to embracing and exploring his latin origins. He recently visited Brazil after nearly 4 years without going, and the emotional process of rediscovering his previous home resulted in this series of pictures, taken in Rio de Janeiro during carnival 2023.
He named the series ''Tropicália'' as a homage to the Brazilian artistic movement of the same name that arose in the late 1960s, and was led by legends such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Gal Costa.
