My work explores themes of self-documentation, memory, and agency in relation to photography and technology. In an era characterized by unprecedented pressure to photograph every aspect of our lives, I am interested in how constantly searching for the photogenic restrains us from being fully present. Additionally, my research draws from the fact that technology is actively shaping our reality. In recent projects, I aim to interfere with the pervasive influence of everyday electronic devices like the camera and computer by using them in the most subversive ways. For example, draining the batteries of my camera on counter-photographic tasks an recontextualizing my computer in unconventional situations—whether by dirtying it with food or washing it with water and soap—served to disrupt the supremacy of photography and technology.
