Sumuyya Khader (b. 1988, Liverpool) is an artist working in a multiplicity of ways within the sector working with major institutions, projects, publishers, social enterprises and artist-led groups. Her practice is a combination of illustration, drawing & print works that predominantly explore place and identity. She has recently set up Granby Press, a community-based organisation with a focus on printed material and design while also developing an archive of black culture & history in the L8 area of Liverpool.
These digital works explore identity and hint to the lack of representation you typically see within the field of illustration. Being alone with our thoughts during lockdown, gazing out and trying to draw the eye back in.
