The Andaz Hotel in Wailea is one of the latest development projects that has happened on the island of Maui.
The hotel, built less than 10 years ago on 2013, is now one of the most frequented resorts on the island. With two towering wings, a number of infinity pools and a man-made beach, it is a primal example of man interrupting nature. Snorkeling and sun bathing are the most popular things to do while here. However, the corals and reefs have been incredibly impacted by run offs from sunscreen pollutants, bleaching the ecosystem. People are told not to taunt with the wildlife, since many inhabitants, including sea turtles are very sensitive creatures. Even though, Hawaii has always been a very environmentally conscious state, it remains very dependent on tourism.
