Today I Tried To Be A Trampoline is my new solo exhibition at Boom Gallery in Victoria, Australia. The exhibition features 13 paintings, 4 wall sculptures and 18 ceramic plates.
The title of the show comes from my desire to give the audience something to bounce off of, just enough to make them feel alive. You know, like a Trampoline does.
My work has a very open, utilitarian graphic approach. I often describe it like painting a book cover for a book I didn’t write. Also, I often lean into humour in my work, which will probably make it wildly unpopular with some people, because art is supposed to be deadly serious. The nerve.
