Ancient inhabitants believed that, on the Aztec site of Teotihuacan, the world had emerged and the cycle of the moon and stars was renewed. Since more than a decade, a group of surrounding villages wake up daily before the sunrise : they offer globo experience to early birds visitors. Depending on the wind’s will, the passengers might even fly just above the sacred pyramids.
While staying in the area, I enjoy living at the local pace. Day after day, I too wake up early, ready to chase balloons and their cycle. Each stroll looks like a journey back to the dawn of life when experiences are felt in the body, through the senses, and not yet spoken nor intellectualized. Day after day, while taking part in the spectacle of contrasting colors, shapes and textures, I feel the presence of the land’s ghosts as well as my own.
