Jules is one of my best friends, he’s queer and lives all around the world (almost all of it by now) and one of the most open minded guys I have ever met. Thanks to him, I learned a lot about the LGBTQI+ community and what it is like to be « queer » EVERYDAY! This portrait was taken in March, while I was visiting him during his Erasmus studies in Liege, Belgium. We were hanging around and drinking beers like alien and misplaced creatures in an upper middle-class neighbourhood with big residential houses, sport areas and sporty guys… We were very much out of context but at the same time we fitted so well in this situation, it was somewhat surrealistic.
All this story, the flashy colors of the pictures and the patterns of yellow fences behind Jules, reminds me of this ironic trance remix by Life Sim.
