Since early 2018, my good friend and filmmaker Jamil McGinnis and I have been candidly photographing the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights.
We've since designed hundreds of images, interviews, poems, and found objects into a 250-page hardcover book called 'Things You Know.' It's become a dynamic compilation focused on the ephemerality of place and an everlasting sense of change over the neighborhood and its inhabitants.
Just as the neighborhood itself seems to be in a constant state of evolution, the nonlinearity of the publication is a reminder that the world around us is always in motion and that every experience and interaction is its own universe.
100% of proceeds will go towards creating a photography program with a Crown Heights-based public school in Spring 2021.
