Being alive is never not a strange experience.
We make our way between layers of physical sensations, emotions, learnt significations and intimate understandings.
My paintings are attempts to take a step back and consider these layers of experiences constantly bleeding into each other.
I gather mundane moments reflecting a soft uncanniness : shapes that stroke me, close ups of body parts, out of context objects or situations. By painting them from a subjective point of view, sometimes adding dream-like details or accentuating slightly some qualities of atmosphere, I make a collection of memories of sensations, clues of what being alive feels like inside.
