Won of 50 is a mission to connect people to art through ownership.
My name is Aaron and I’m from Philly, born and raised. The aim of this work is to get art back into the hands of native Philadelphians, with the hope that through a sense of ownership, and the awareness that the found painting or piece belongs solely to the finder, people can connect to the work on a deeper level. Won of 50 is a project of 50 distinct paintings that were distributed throughout six different neighborhoods of Philadelphia with a resident from the neighborhood. Paintings were packaged and presented on electric posts, benches, bus stops, and outside convenient stores, for anyone passing by to pick up.
