I am a vocalist and a performer but after a series of deaths in my family, I began photographing myself to give a different life and substance to my grief. In a time of collective grief, mass fear, ecologic death, displacement and dislocation, The Scream is a series of self portraits that illuminates the need for lamentation or expression of grief. The Scream is a lamentation in images. It is a rage against oppression and call for connection. It is a final call from a sinking boat. It is a death mask. It is a hopeful resurrection.
