These images are a combination of 35 mm. film and digital photographs taken of walls in Central America, South East Asia, Europe, and The United States. This is a series about the walls we create to protect ourselves, the walls we construct to divide ourselves from "the other," and the walls we construct in order to decide what we share in the public sphere what we decide to keep private. In my experience when there is significant difference between who I am publicly and who I am privately I must examine my life as there is most likely shame involved. Once more, I believe shame is a social construct that oppresses people, dominates psyches, and alienates communities.
