These are photos of "home" for me. All the images have been taken in a 15-kilometer region of my house. The village where I live is the rural border between Belgium and The Netherlands. 5 places to buy fries, 2 bars, and a declining population.
As somebody with both nationalities, I try to find myself in this region.
Since 2020 I have crossed fields, wandered forests, and found abandoned buildings. Capturing the light that hits these places with film. Then developing and printing every image. Using scans of the prints to cement my commitment. Because the darkroom provides answers. With this process, I align myself with a long history of craft. This is most sacred.
All these elements make up my world. A haunting representation of agricultural Flanders.
