The Longer I Spend Looking explores themes of transition, familiarity, and the process of feeling at home. I moved around many times as a child but moving to Vancouver was the first time I was on my own. This experience allowed me to feel ownership over my life and self even in the face of challenges. I get a feeling when looking at the ocean and the mountains, something I wouldn't have been able to articulate before seeing them. These images reflect the sense of warmth that fills you when looking at something you love.
