My aim in painting is to tell a story through willful brushstrokes and compositions. I am wired for finding connection and reference, whether it is in details and patterns or mismatches and contrasts. I combine my love for logo design with gestural painting to create abstract images that hold life’s mysteries. The juxtaposition of hued layers with expressive brushstrokes relates to movement in space. By using symbolic colours, shapes and textures I try to build a specific mood and narrative. Though premeditated, my paintings rely equally on accidents. The brush leaves an unexpected mark, provoking further experimentation and play with the matter. I cherish it as being essential to life - a signature of honesty and invitation to keep an open mind.
