The fountain is shaped after European Baroque fountains. Poseidon is lying in the center of the rounded pool, surrounded by 6 girls in bathing suits, each attacking him in a different way. The fountain represents a contemporary fantasy of heroism, as it relates to society’s power structure, emphasizes a possible gender-role switch and expresses emotional elements which are usually hidden. The colorful, glossy figures reveal the gap between the ancient world and the abilities and actions of the new, current feminine image, which is provoking, powerful and capable of making a change.
