I specialise in contemporary realism. My medium of choice is pastel for its immediacy of application and versatility of finish. I have a penchant for chiaroscuro, contre-jour and en grisaille dramatic, lighting effects. Particularly, creating paintings from dark to light through the shadows. My techniques lend themselves to visual honesty arresting the viewer longer to ask questions.
I want to express what I hold dear, a fleeting moment that touches the human heart as timeless through relationships and connections. I hope to evoke a sense of who I am as a person by painting those that I love and hold dear to my heart. I want to capture a sense of being in the moment. Time not as linear but as universal to those that experience my work, inviting the viewer to journey with me. I want to unify the heart and mind through my work.
