In a battle to overpower our preconceived ideas about the value of materials, pretentious materials don’t make objects more valuable. We don't throw gold on the streets like garbage, because we treasure it culturally.
The project called Materiality, is centered around the Anthropocene Era, popularly known as the plastic age.
With an exceptional esthetic, ethic and concept, we try to show there is always a virtuous way to perceive a cheap, mass-produced material like plastic.
"By casting his own hands into the work, the artist underlines the powerful narrative for the human manipulation of new materials."
Every object has his own persona and is entirely made by hand using similar techniques used in metal casting. There are literally endless color combinations, each accentuates the different personalities of the objects.
